The Nick England Memorial Scholarship Fund was created to honor the life and memory of Nick England and to continue his legacy of academic excellence, generosity and community service. Nick was a lifelong resident of Wise, Virginia who unselfishly devoted himself to being an integral part of all he did in the community. Nick was a 2013 honors graduate of Central High School where he played basketball and excelled in golf. He graduated from UVA-Wise, where he majored in Biology and was also a member of the golf team. He helped lead his team to a conference championship in the fall of 2016. He was an avid golfer, hiker, weight-lifter and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Nick attended Highland Fellowship where he devoted himself to loving people at a deeper level. His smile and laugh was contagious to all those around him.
The scholarship is an annual, merit based scholarship that focuses on rewarding like-minded, ambitious and driven college bound students in our area who are dedicated to making a difference in their community.
