Lindsay Flanary graduated from Central High School with Honors and with an Associates Degree with Honors from Mountain Empire Community College. She has been an active member of many clubs, including the Bible club where she has been the president for two years and the swim team where she was the captain for two years. She is active in the community and her church through NHS and children church programs. She plans to attend UVA-Wise to major in early childhood education and become an elementary school teacher and then continue her education at UVA-Wise with a graduate degree in education.
Ariana Urnick graduated from Eastside High School. She will be attending UVA Wise after graduation to pursue a BSN in nursing. She is active in her church and community. At age six, she was diagnosed with type one diabetes and has discovered that God gave her this mountain to climb so that she can teach other people with medical concerns how to push forward and climb theirs. She plans to pursue a career in the medical field upon graduation.

Emilee Mullins is a 2023 graduate from Central High School. She is attending The University of Virginia’s College at Wise in the fall to obtain degrees in exercise science and business administration. She aspires to become a physical therapist after college. She would like to thank the Nick England Scholarship Foundation and the England Family for helping her on her education journey and inspiring her and so many others to love deeper daily.
Grace Campbell is a graduating senior of the class of 2023 at Central High school. She plans to attend UVA-Wise in the fall semester of 2023. She also plans to receive a Masters degree in Business-Finance and eventually work within the financial field. Grace is a very active member of her church as well as community in which she volunteers much of her time.
Emile Schenk will be graduating from Union High School as the 2023 valedictorian. I will be attending UVa-Wise in the fall to major in English and minor in secondary education. I hope to one day become a guidance counselor. I am very involved in my church. Singing on the praise team and teaching children’s church are my favorite things to do every week.

The 2020 Nick England Memorial Scholarship is awarded to Lance Collie of Wise. Lance received the Wise Kiwanis Club 2019 Citizenship Award and the A. Linwood Holton Governor’s School Certificate of Honor. Lance is graduating from Central High School in May and will be attending The University of Virginia’s College at Wise this Fall. Lance is heavily involved in his church and leads a life of service through his involvement in many clubs and organizations including the National Honor Society, Key Club, Mu Alpha Theta, 4-H of SWVA and the community Brown Bag lunch program. Congratulations.
2019

The 2019 Nick England Memorial Scholarship goes to Wes Slagle. Wes is a state golf champion and has been a standout in everything he’s pursued. He will be graduating from Union High School this month and attending the University of Virginia at Wise this fall where he will be playing golf. More importantly, Wes is devoted to his faith, family and has been a strong leader at his school, church and in the community.
2018

The 2018 Nick England Memorial Scholarship goes to Ms. Jayme Salyers of Eastside High School. Jayme is the 2018 Salutatorian at Eastside and plans to attend the University of Virginia at Wise this fall. Jayme is deeply involved in her local church, Operation Christmas Child and is a founding member of the Fellowship of Christian Students at Eastside. Congratulations Jayme!
2017

The 2017 Nick England Scholarship recipient is Sydney Bates! Sydney has a heart for the Lord, missions, community service, family and is an academic standout. She is a graduate of Central High School this Friday and will be attending the University of Virginia at Wise this fall.
